Craft beer continues its upward growth trajectory. The Brewers Association has released its annual list of top-producing craft breweries for 2022. And in the report, they found that “overall [craft] beer market share by volume grew to 13.2%, up from 13.1% the previous year.”
In addition “the number of operating craft breweries continued to climb in 2022, reaching an all-time high of 9,552, including 2,035 microbreweries, 3,418 brewpubs, 3,838 taproom breweries, and 261 regional craft breweries.”
Powering some of this growth were four breweries from Pennsylvania who have found themselves on the list, with the keystone state maintaining the top spot.
Pottsville’s very own Yuengling Brewing has yet again taken the overall spot as having produced the most craft beer throughout the United States. It’s also worth noting that Yuengling comes in at #7 among all breweries both craft and macro.
Tröegs Independent Brewing finds itself on this list at the #25 spot (dropping one spots from the previous year). Meanwhile, Artisanal Brewing Ventures (which is comprised of Victory Beer, Sixpoint and Southern Tier) jumped two spots from the previous year into #6.
New to the list in 2022 versus 2021 is the Pittsburgh Brewing Company which landed at #31 on the list. This should come as a surprise to no one as the brewing company launched a massive brewery that will see them increase overall beer production for years to come
