Brewery Preview: Bald Birds Brewing Company, Opening This Summer

Bald Birds Brewing Company is one of the latest breweries to join the ever growing Pennsylvania craft beer community, with an expected opening this summer.

Almost two years of searching and planning has led south Philly native husband and wife team Abby and Joe Feerrar to a large industrial park location in Eagleville, PA.

Check out the taproom as it is under construction. We will continue to update as the space is finalized.

This 7,500 sq ft warehouse will be a mix of taproom and brewery production space, plenty of room for head brewer Patrick Thomas. The brewery offers a 10 bbl system system and five 20 bbl fermenters to start, with plenty of room to expand. There will be an on-site lab for them to cultivate and create, and a 1 bbl (50 gal) Spike Brewing test system.

Patrick Thomas has a decade of brewing experience, with impressive names on his resume such as Oscar Blues and recently Evil Genius. He will start with IPA’s, Lagers, and Pilsners, with plans to get into sours, barrel aged stouts, and experimental brews down the line.

They intend to build a large outdoor deck to offer guests an enjoyable evening under the stars or while the sun is shining. The deck will go on the large plot of land out front:

Instead of an on site kitchen, Bald Birds will tap into the growing food truck scene in Pennsylvania. This will work nicely with the large outdoor deck area that BBB has in store for people.

We will update as they get closer to opening, and look forward to seeing them in action. For now visit their website and follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on all the fun.
