In the latest Pennsylvania craft beer expansion news it appears Lehigh Valley’s own Cave Brewing Company will be expanding their operations and introducing a satellite taproom.
For those not as familiar you can learn more about Cave Brewing from a previous profile we published on Owner/ Head Brewer Jeff Bonner:
Cave Brewing Company was founded in 2015, and is the dream of longtime home brewer Jeff Bonner and his wife Alison. Bonner is a former Nuclear Engineer, and 26 years ago he started to brew beer. He read a lot of books, and played around with ingredients to dial in the process. Fast forward to 2015, he opened Cave brewing’s original location, and then June of 2018 when he expanded the brand to a taproom in the South Mall.
The brewery posted the following on social media teasing the expansion.
.
According to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Boards public database the brewery has a storage license filed for an address at 165 S 1ST ST in Lehighton. For those not familiar a storage license allows a brewery to open an offsite taproom outside of their primary brewing facility, you can read more about them here.
This would be the breweries second expansion outside of their main location in Bethlehem. Unfortunately though they closed their first satellite taproom due to Covid.
Follow the brewery on Facebook and Instagram to to watch their growth for yourself. We will continue to update as more information is available.
