Back in early 2021, we had first brought you the news that Pittsburgh favorite Dancing Gnome Brewing was expanding with plans to open a brand new 9,000+ square foot taproom in Sharpsburg. And now the opening of this location has become official. On Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 the brewery will open its new space 1025 Main Street in Sharpsburg, a short walk from its original brewery and taproom.
This new brewery is housed in a re-purposed, steel warehouse by the river. Opening this space will allow the brewery to upgrade its brewing capacity by housing a brand new 20 barrel production brewhouse. The spacious taproom and bar will offer 16 taps of Dancing Gnome beer and plenty of seating inside and out for beer fans.
According to the breweries architecture firm, Margittai Architects, this new expansion will “allow Dancing Gnome to produce approximately 10,000 barrels of beer per year. In addition to the brewing area, the taproom, cold room, and outdoor beer garden should not only make this facility a desirable destination, but also a wonderful community amenity.”
