You may recall in February of this year when we sat down with Renata Certo-Ware of Dock Street Brewing to discuss their plans to open a taproom in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. It would appear that construction on the space is complete and the taproom opens Tuesday, April 4th at 4:00 PM.
Dock Street Fishtown is opening at 1229 N. Front Street in an 1,100 square foot space in an area ripe with brewery growth with brands like Brewery ARS, Evil Genius, and more calling the neighborhood home.
As Certo-Ware originally described the goal behind the new space she mentioned that “Dock Street South [the main brewery] is pretty enormous (nearly 11k sq ft, with about 6,000 of that being brewery space) so we’re brewing and canning there. Dock Street Fishtown will be a taproom showcasing our most popular brews alongside some of the funkier one-offs, and will also feature amazing cocktails, similar to the bar program at Dock Street South. We’ll feature local PA spirits and seasonal, themed cocktails”
While the Fishtown taproom will not have the same amount of space as the main facility in South Philadelphia, Dock Street does plan to continue pairing handmade craft beer and food. The food offerings will be done commissary kitchen style, where they will offer light bites made at Dock Street South to pair with beer and cocktails. And much like the main brewery guests will have another location to enjoy Dock Street beer both on draft and plenty of cans to-go.
The official announcement describes the location as a “beautiful, cozy yet high performance, high efficiency, all-electric taproom is full of natural light, restored lumber and architectural accents salvaged from Philadelphia homes and businesses, plus plenty of cheeky design elements.”
As of this writing the hours of the space are as follows:
Tuesday: 4:00 – 10:00 PM
Wednesday: 4:00 – 10:00 PM
Thursday: 4:00 – 10:00 PM
Friday: 4:00 – Close
Saturday: 12:00 – Close
Sunday: 12:00 – Close
