East End Brewing has added a new year-round beer to their lineup.
Everyday Pilsner is a 4.4% ABV bright, crisp, flavorful, beer-flavored beer that’s now available in draft and 12oz cans throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, and of course at the brewery.
Even though this is a brand new beer, East End has actually been working on this pilsner for a few years now, mostly through their YOU ARE HERE Neighborhood Beer Project. Brewing 90 different one-off beers has afforded them the luxury of a full-scale laboratory to build prototype after prototype on a large scale.
“We’re pretty excited about what seems to be a renewed interest in beer-flavored beers in our little corner of the beer world, and this addition to our lineup is definitely a response to that!” – Scott Smith, owner of East End Brewing
Over the last 2 years, the brewery has released: a Keller Pils for West End, a Dry Hopped Pilsner for New Homestead, a Wild Rice Black Pilsner for Upper Hill, a Light Lager for Terrace Village, a Vienna Lager for Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar, and a Dortmunder Export Lager for Carrick. They even managed a non-YOU ARE HERE Pilsner in PittonkaPils (brewed for Pittsburgh’s own May-Day Music Festival, Pittonkatonk), which is currently on tap.
Brewing all of these pilsners or pilsner-adjacent beer styles has allowed East End to further hone their ingredient selection, their recipe, and their process for this, Everyday Pilsner.
Scott continues, “We’re really excited about what we’ve got here. So much so that we’ve jumped right into year-round status with it, and that’s something that we’ve not done for more than a decade.”
Everyday Pilsner is available on draft and in 12oz cans, just like their Hefe Weizen, Fat Gary Brown Ale, and the brewery’s flagship Big Hop American Ale . The somehow new, somehow classic labels that adorn these cans, were conjured up by EE’s friends over at Commonwealth Press.
