Mark your calendars for this Sunday December 3rd!
It’s been 2 months since hurricane Maria devastated most of the island and while recovery has begun, it will be a long, slow and arduous process. A large percentage of the island is still without power and as of today, electrical generation is still only at 50% capacity. If you don’t know, Francisco Ramirez (co-owner and the Mad Chef himself), is originally from Puerto Rico and most of his family still lives in the San Juan area. And in an effort to help with relief Mad Chef Brewing is hosting a Fundraiser this Sunday.
Mad Chef had planned a collaboration brew session with Ocean Lab Brewing Company in Carolina, Puerto Rico the week that Maria hit the Island. And in that time they have brewed the collaboration beer and named it “There Gose Maria”. (A delicious beer if we do say so ourselves).
Come out on Sunday to help raise money towards this great cause. 100% of the proceeds from There Goes Maria will be donated to an organization in Puerto Rico that is getting much needed supplies directly to those that need it.
The Traveling Tap will be donating their time and a beer cart as well. Beers donated by St. Boniface, Columbia Kettle Works, The Brewery at Hershey and Mike Knaub Brewery will be pouring! These beers will be $2 per draft – but you can donate more if you would like!
They will also have various items that you can win with 50/50 tickets. One of those items will be a brew day with Francisco and Sean. If you are a homebrewer or always wanted to learn how to brew, this is your chance to brew with the Mad Chef. The 50/50 tickets will be sold for $5 each or $20 for 5.
So please mark your calendars and come help raise money on Sunday, December 3rd for Puerto Rico recovery. Find more information here.
