For the first time since 2019 Pennsylvania beer drinkers will be able to get their hands on “Golden Lager” from the Pittsburgh Brewing Company, makers of iconic Iron City beer.
IC Golden Lager is an Iron City & Pittsburgh Brewing Company classic. It was first developed in 1983 by brewmaster Mike Carota, and features a rich character and a snappy, clean finish offered by hand-picked Bavarian malts & hops. Pittsburgh Brewing confirms that“Carota has been a vital part of our team from Lawrenceville to Latrobe, to our new home in Creighton. Moving to Creighton and bringing our brewing in house has given us the capability to bring this iconic brand back, using our ten-barrel system to brew this fan favorite to perfection.”
“Here at Pittsburgh Brewing we are embracing our evolution as a company while also honoring our storied history throughout the years. Hence why this holiday season we have chosen to bring IC Golden Lager out of retirement for a limited time this holiday season” the brewery said about why the beer was making its return.
Fans of the brewing companies iconic brands should also expect to see more releases like this in the future. “Moving forward, we are planning to bring one retired brand back each holiday season, as an ode to our rich history and to give some nostalgia to our loyal customers.”
IC Golden Lager will be released to the public and available in their brewery gift shop on November 24th. Because of demand an limited supply the brewery will begin a presale of the beer starting on November 3rd. Customers will be able to register using their online store. Pickup for Presale will take place November 14th to the 22nd at their gift shop in Creighton. There will be a limit to one case per purchase.
