In an effort to support the Black Lives Matter movement, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (Iron Hill) will be releasing their version of Black is Beautiful, a canned stout beer that is part of a larger collaboration in which participating breweries donate 100% of proceeds from its sales to local foundations that support people of color and inclusion.
Started by Weathered Souls Brewing Company, the Black is Beautiful beer initiative is a way to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. Weathered Souls have provided breweries across the country with the recipe for the stout base, allowing breweries the opportunity to put their own creative spin on their recipe. Iron Hill’s version of Black is Beautiful is a complex malty-sweet and highly roasted Imperial Stout, clocking in at 10% alcohol by volume.
Iron Hill will be donating all the proceeds from this can release to The Urban League of Philadelphia, a local affiliate of the National Urban League, a nonpartisan civil rights organization that has empowered African Americans and other underserved communities for more than a century through housing, employment, entrepreneurship, youth development, health and wellness and advocacy for more than 15,000 children, and families a year.
Iron Hill’s Black is Beautiful cans will be available in 4-packs for pickup at all Iron Hill locations for $22.
