J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company has teamed up with the non-profit organization Operation BBQ Relief, to bring food to the Afghanistan refugees coming to Philadelphia.
They started on Wednesday, September 1st in the heavy rain of Hurricane Ida, and quietly began their Operation BBQ Relief deployment. This project is sending 1,800 meals per day to the Philadelphia International Airport to feed the thousands of refugees coming from Afghanistan. (See the pictures below)
“It’s been an incredible amount of long hours and demanding work, but it’s all worth it. The refugees coming in need our help more than ever, and we are happy to help.” – Randy Young, head brewery and co-owner at J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company
In the coming days, the brewery will be looking for volunteers to help package the meals in this big humanitarian effort they have begun.
