Opinion: Our Thoughts On The New Trail Popularity In Our Facebook Group

Untitled

Owning the largest Pennsylvania Craft Beer group on Facebook gives you a good idea of what’s going on in the PA beer landscape. And one of the comments we see somewhat regularly tends to be how much New Trail beer is shared within the group. We believe there is a little more to it than just a super popular brewery.

New Trail has done something that not many breweries their size throughout the state have accomplished. They’ve created an uber-popular beer brand that also sees large distribution.

Think of the more popular breweries in PA. How do you get their beer? If you want Dancing Gnome you have to drive to their brewery in Pittsburgh. If you want Tired Hands you have to drive to Ardmore. If you want Imprint you have to drive to Hatfield. And so on and so on….we think you get the point.

As a result, a smaller group of people enjoy the beer because the breweries (for the most part) require that you drive to them.

However, New Trail has done it differently. They’ve created a popular brand, but at the same time, their beer is relatively easy to get. You don’t have to drive to Williamsport for the beer. Chances are you have picked up cans as far as 100 miles from the brewery.

Don’t believe us? Look at that growth!

All of this means that the number of people enjoying the beer is that much larger. Which is unique for a brewery. If there is one thing we have learned with craft beer, is that the hype dies down once access to the beer is no longer difficult. However, that does not seem to be the case with New Trail.

As a result, we believe you will find more of their beer being shared within the group; because of how popular they are, combined with the ease of access to the beer.
