Philadelphia’s First Black-Owned Brewery Will Have Cans At The Eagles Game This Season

We first interviewed Two Locals back in July of 2020. We spoke with brothers Rich and Mengistu Koiler, two brothers who grew up in West Philadelphia, who created the first black-owned brewery in Philadelphia. They were, and still are, aiming to change the beer scene in the city.

The brothers have been quite busy since then. They released their first canned beer in March of 2021, thanks to a partnership with Mainstay Independent Brewing. They also won Philly Mag’s “Best New Brewery” in the Best of Philly 2021 list.

Another accomplishment the two brothers can check off their list is now getting their beer into Lincoln Financial Field for the Eagles games. There is also a fun story of how the deal was done. Eagles President Don Smolenski is said to have seen Two Locals featured in The Inquirer, and one of the brothers was wearing an Eagles hat. So he reached out, and the deal was done!

“We’re just happy for the opportunity to have our beer available at The Linc. It’s our hometown so it’s pretty dope to see!” says Rich Koiler, co-owner of Two Locals Brewing,

Eagles and craft beer fans can expect to see both Nubian, their 5.5% brown ale, and Prolific, their 6% Hazy IPA at the stadium on draft. With their 5.2% Witbier joining the options in September. These beers cans will be available at the stand at the main entrance and will expand to other spots from there.

As always, you can order Two Locals’ beer via online ordering, as well as on tap at Craft Hall on Delaware Avenue.
