Sacred Vice Brewing Plans Expansion With New Brewery And Taproom In Fishtown Neighborhood Of Philadelphia

Ever since opening in December of 2018, Sacred Vice Brewing has offered a quaint and charming feel that locals have come to enjoy. “The most nano obscure brewery in Philadelphia” (as they call themselves) has become synonymous with offering an intimate space for beer lovers to enjoy freshly made handcrafted beverages.

They are now taking that vibe and bringing it to the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

As we learned from speaking with brewery owner Matt Brodsky Sacred Vice is in plans to open a 3,000 square feet location at the border of Fishtown, just blocks away from Evil Genius, Fermentary Form, Human Robot and Punch Buggy Brewing.

Brodsky described the new space by saying “our Amber Street taproom has always had the vibe of your great aunt’s living room with the furniture, family photos, weird mementos and record player … if that room was in a 19th century textile mill in Harrowgate, Philadelphia. We’re going to keep that welcoming low key vibe in our new taproom — albeit with a good dose of natural light this time!

The space will be more than just your “aunt’s living room”. In addition to the taproom, this new location will also allow Sacred Vice to increase brewing operations as well. “A big reason we’re moving is to increase production. We’re installing a 10BBL system in the new spot with capabilities to make the wide range of ales we love to drink – all styles of IPAS of course and Saisons and English ales – plus traditionally made lagers” Brodsky said about the move.

Brodsky went on to share why they chose this location specifically. “That area is turning into a great beer neighborhood! If you cast an even wider net, the north side of downtown Philadelphia is blowing up with breweries from Other Half, Yards, Triple Bottom, and Love City closer to downtown, to Brewery ARS, The Source, and Tired Hands around Fishtown to our end of the neighborhood, beer lovers have many reasons to keep coming back. We’re excited to become a bigger part of this next wave of Philadelphia beer history.”

The opening of this new location does not mean their original space will close. As of this writing, Sacred Vice intends to keep its Amber Street taproom open. They plan to use this space for limited tasting hours and special events “so we can still get our fix of the great aunt’s living room.

The new space plans to open in late summer/ early fall of 2022. To keep up with Sacred Vice’s growth be sure to follow them on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
