Sly Fox Brewing Company is saying goodbye to its remaining Pittsburgh location.

The brewery announced today (August 12th, 2026) that its taphouse at 300 Liberty Ave. in downtown Pittsburgh will close permanently following Saturday, August 15.

In a message shared with customers, Sly Fox said the decision came after careful consideration and that the company has decided not to renew its lease at the location.

“For the past five years, it has been our privilege to be a part of the Pittsburgh community. We have shared countless meals, raised glasses, celebrated milestones, welcomed visitors, and created memories with so many of you.

Pittsburgh has been very good to us, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who walked through our doors and made Sly Fox a part of your lives.”

Sly Fox noted that gift cards will continue to be honored at its other locations throughout Pennsylvania.

With the closure of the taphouse, Sly Fox will no longer have a physical location in Pittsburgh.

A Pittsburgh Expansion That Started In 2019

Sly Fox’s Pittsburgh story began in 2019 when the brewery announced plans to expand into the city with not one, but two locations.

The 300 Liberty Ave. taphouse was planned as a 1,700-square-foot space at the bottom of the River Vue apartment complex. The downtown taphouse officially became part of Sly Fox’s Pittsburgh presence in September 2019, giving the brewery a location overlooking Point State Park.

The brewery’s second Pittsburgh location was at The Highline on the South Side. That location opened in 2022 but closed earlier this year on February 25, 2026.

Burghers Brewing has taken over the former Sly Fox Highline space as part of a larger expansion that has also brought a new Burghers Pizza concept.
