As we previously reported, Troegs would be releasing the anticipated “Triple Nator”. The brewery now has announced a brewery-only release date of March 25th at 11am.
Triple Nator is a triple bock lager brewed with some PA-grown Pale malt as well as Munich, Pilsner, Caramel, Special B, and Chocolate malt. The beer will be 13.2% ABV and be available in 12.7oz bottles at the brewery.

Brewery owner, John Trogner had the following to say about the beer:
“I’m very excited about this recipe. It has its roots in Troegenator, but we didn’t want to just turn up the volume. We asked ourselves, ‘Is it possible to brew a beer above 13% ABV but still nuanced in flavor?’ That was the goal. To that end, we boiled the wort a long time, reducing it in volume by about 30%. That’s how we got the high gravity, and the extra fermentables from the Demerara and Belgian candy sugars helped nudge up the ABV. We’re at 12.5% and counting right now, but we’ve retained a crisp, malty profile. Not too much sweetness. This one is definitely meant to cellar. I’m picturing legendary vertical tastings every year when the new vintage is out.”
