Yuengling Continues Military Support With Care Packages; Eyes More Charitable Support In 2023

While Yuengling has become synonymous with being America’s oldest brewery there is one other area they have become almost just as well known for: supporting our Military through a wide variety of charitable causes.

In late 2022 the Pottsville based brewery completed its fifth consecutive year of sending care packages to active-duty military members through its relationship with Operation Gratitude. For those not familiar, Operation Gratitude provides resources and opportunities for everyday people or organizations to assemble care packages for deployed troops, first responders, military families, recruit graduates, veterans, wounded heroes, and more. To date, they have delivered over 3.5 million packages.

In November of this year, the brewery invited employees to help assemble hygiene kits with highly requested items such as nail files, mouthwash, dental floss, chapstick, and more. Yuengling even added their own personal swag to the packages to show their support. In addition to the items, Yuengling employees added personal handwritten letters to express their gratitude to the military members who received the packages.

Supporting the military through efforts like this is not new to Yuengling. The brewery also has a long-standing relationship with Team Red White and Blue (RWB) and the TAPS charity. You can read more about the Yuengling and TAPS relationship here. Many local beer drinkers will notice their camouflage Yuengling Lager cans during the summer with the RWB logo adorned on them.

As Debbie Yuengling shared with us in a sit-down conversation Yuengling plans to continue their support of RWB, Operation Gratitude and TAPS well into the future. Events such as the care packages and special themed cans mentioned above are just a part of how they show their support. You can read more about their “Lager For Heroes” here which outlines many of the charitable programs they will host throughout the year. Since 2016, Yuengling has donated over $800,000 to military based charities.
