Ever Grain Brewing Company (Camp Hill, PA) has just announced the creation of Ever Grain Farms.
This new program from Ever Grain will feature 100% oak fermented, mixed culture beers, along with native ales, some fun experimental ales, and lagers using as many locally sourced ingredients as they can get their hands on.
We recently spoke to Derek Testerman, who we learned is spearheading the Ever Grain Farm Project. “Inspiration from the project came from the owners love of funky farmhouse beers they drank from Jester King and Forest and Main” Testerman said.
The owners were made aware that the barn was being sold by a friend of theirs and they knew it would be ideal for this project. The brewery began propagating their cultures back in April, then selected a few that were progressing in the direction they were looking for; mild acid producing cultures with plenty of funk.
“All of our beers at the barn will be 100% oak fermented and use deer creek malt as much as possible. Currently we are in the process of filling over 200 barrels and setting our cool ship up for its maiden voyage next week.” Testerman added.
The beers produced at this location will mostly be farmhouse mixed culture brett beers, saison, fruited lambic-style, local fruited sours and other experimental beers. Testerman confirmed “we will bottle condition and hopefully open up the barn for public events and tastings on the farm. We already have collabs with 2sp and Big Hill Cider in barrels with a few more lined up”.
The new location is still underway, but follow along with the excitement at the Instagram page for the farm and Ever Grain Facebook page.
