Eight Pittsburgh Area Breweries Come Together to Showcase Pink Boots Collaboration Beers

Pink Boots Society is an organization that aims to assist, inspire, and encourage women and/or non-binary individuals in the fermented and alcoholic beverage industry.

Pink Boots has partnered with Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) over the last 5 years to make an exclusive Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® hops blend. YCH donates $3 from every pound of the blend sold back to the Pink Boots Educational Fund. To date, more than $381,000 has been raised for this cause.

This year Pittsburgh was one of 37 chapters across 5 countries that participated in the annual selection. Eight breweries in the area then created beers with the blend. Unlike other collaborations, each brewery’s recipe was unique. What’s more, women from all areas of the industry came together to craft these brews. Their roles and responsibilities included everything from recipe design to brewing to canning.

All of the beers will be available Wednesday, May 4th at Mike’s Beer Bar on the North Shore of Pittsburgh for a special Pink Boots tap takeover. A portion of the sales of each beer will be donated to the Pink Boots Pittsburgh chapter and the national organization. Those funds will in turn help provide scholarships and leadership opportunities for women and non-binary individuals who want to advance their careers in the industry.

Participating Pittsburgh-area breweries and their beers include:

Altered Genius Brewing Co. – She-Nius, Hazy IPA
East End Brewing – Might, English Pale Ale
Erie Brewing Company – Hazy Babes, Hazy IPA
Grist House – Queen’s Wit, Witbier
Inner Groove Brewing – Tiffany Twisted, Hazy IPA
Levity Brewing Company – Slay Sisters, Pale Ale
ShuBrew – Shoots like a Girl Dread, Hazy IPA
Two Frays Brewery – F’raise Her Up, Black IPA
