VinePair, the popular beer, wine, and spirits website, recently released a list of “The Highest-Rated Beer in Every State (2023)”.
After compiling and reviewing the data, Le Roar Grrrz from Bullfrog Brewery (Williamsport), was found to be the most checked-in craft beer in Pennsylvania on Untappd.
Le Roar Grrrz is a 7.2% time intensive barrel aged American fruited wild ale. Each batch takes years to make (3-4 years per batch) and is conditioned on loads of fruit, then keg conditioned to perfection. There are many varietals.
Methodology: In order to determine Americans’ favorite beers, VinePair consulted Beer Advocate’s list of top-rated beers from breweries in all 50 states and Washington D.C. To keep projections as accurate as possible, only beers with over 100 ratings from Beer Advocate users were considered as the contenders for each state’s top dog.
Also note: The ratings cutoff was based on data from each state’s Top Rated Beer page, not the beer’s profile page, which in some cases may be lower.
Bullfrog Brewery first opened in August 1996, at 229 West 4th Street in Williamsport, PA. The brewery is known for its sours and ale, and always has about 20 offerings for beer fans. But that’s not all, their robust food menu keeps customers coming back time and time again as well.
