Bald Birds Brewing has the opportunity to become one of the biggest production facilities in PA with a grant they just received from the state. The brewery is the recipient of the “RACP” Grant (Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program) that was awarded in December after a year-long application and review process.
The funding from this grant will help Bald Birds expand capacity in their Jersey Shore, PA location, a 153,000 sq/ft facility situated centrally in the state. We first reported on this location in July of 2020, and they celebrated their opening in September.
“We feel privileged to have been awarded this grant, and we’re excited to use the funds to grow in ways that will help our own business, the Jersey Shore community, and other breweries in PA that could use a bit of extra capacity.” – said Joey Feerrar, co-owner of Bald Birds Brewing Company
The grant money will be used to finish construction in the production area and secure additional equipment, allowing the brewery to have a full-scale manufacturing and contract-brewing operation. With this capacity, they will be able to accommodate 75+ contract brew customers a month alongside their internal production needs. Along with semi-automated packaging, the brewery plans to offer distribution, as well as direct shipping to PA and other states in the future.
In addition to the production side, the facility is home to a taproom with 40 bar seats, 150 table seats, and a private event space as well.
