We get a lot of questions about our PA Beer Malt Mania bracket. Instead of replying to each and every comment we went ahead and created a bracket FAQ. If you are seeing this it’s because you have most likely asked these questions about the bracket.

What Data Was Used To Create This Bracket?
We pulled all data through the Untappd app of all breweries in Pennsylvania. A brewery must have a minimum of 10,000 ratings to qualify for the bracket. A combination of said ratings and overall score are then used to determine the top 64.

[Brewery] Doesn’t Deserve To Be Ranked [Number]!
See the answer above. If we did a bracket based on the opinion of each beer drinker in Pennsylvania, it would take you 3,455 days to vote in each bracket. We are up for that…but are you?

Why Isn’t My Favorite Brewery Higher Up On The List?
Because you don’t check in enough of their beers on Untappd. That’s ok though, the real joy of craft beer doesn’t involve technology anyway.

Why Wasn’t My Brewery Listed?
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to add every brewery to the bracket. There are only 64 options. And we are lucky to live in a state that has over 400 breweries. A majority will not be on this list. But if you want your brewery represented on our site, please contact us. We’d love to come by!

Did Breweries Ask To Be On This?
No, this is something fun we are doing through our website for our readers. Breweries have no outside influence on how the bracket is constructed.

How Many Times Can I Vote?
You are welcome to vote once per day. To keep things as fair as possible we have set it up so this means everyone gets 5 votes for each round (5 days per round). If you do not use your first vote on day 1 you are welcome to cast votes 1 and 2 on the second day this way it allows all participants an equal number of votes and keeps things as fair as possible.
