Broken Goblet is pleased to offer PA state-wide beer shipping via its new GPS offering. The “Goblet Parcel Service” will allow residents across the state to order 4 packs and crowlers of beer online. “This was wayyyyy more complicated than we thought“, quips Mike LaCouture, co-owner of the brewery. “We had to have spent 6 weeks alone just waiting on UPS for the account setup, and then we set out to decide the best package sizes, packing materials, and pricing.”
BGob, self-proclaimed over-thinkers, worked through this by asking lots of questions, and more importantly, ordering lots of PA beer. “Whether the shipper knew it or not, we ordered a ton of beer from across the state and had it shipped to various spots. We wanted to see what the costs were, how they were packaged, how they arrived, were they cold, etc. And, we wanted to support our PA-based colleagues… I bet we spent upwards of $500 in shipped beer.” True to our PA brewers collaborative nature, Mike says that both Free Will and Stable 12 lent him a hand with questions.
BGob will be shipping their beer with cold packs and individually wrapped bags in the box to keep them as cool as possible and reduce sweat in the box. “We were most impressed with the packaging that not only kept them safe but also cool. We realize winter months might not be as important as that, but once the temp starts going up again, we think it’s a big enough benefit to incur the added cost for materials. We also liked those breweries who added little goodies that made the shipment more personal” so you can expect the Goblet crew to add some extras in there. Shipping will be calculated by UPS and any orders over $75 can get 50% off their shipping using the promo code “BGOB50OFF” at checkout.
The site will go live on October 16th, and shipments will go out on Tuesdays or Wednesdays every week. As a special incentive to try the service, they will be launching their well-received Animal Chin NEDIPA in cans, only for shipping. “It’s available on draft, but if you want the trio of versions with the cool can art, we have them on the site.”
