Butler County Beer Circuit Expands And Releases Collaborative Beer

The Butler County Beer Circuit, a self-guided tour of local brew pubs is expanding from eight to 10. The Butler County Beer Circuit encourages visitors to experience a variety of breweries within Butler County by filling up their Passport to Hoppiness and collecting a commemorative prize upon completion.

Those participating will take their card to the brew pubs listed, order a pint or a flight and receive a stamp at each location. Once the card is complete, participants can bring it to the Tourism Bureau to claim a specialty mug and more for completing the Butler County Beer Circuit. The Bureau’s office is located at 310 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Passports can be picked up at participating brew pubs, the Tourism Bureau or any of the 35 brochure racks throughout the county.

Participating Brew Pubs include Butler Brew Works, Cellar Works Brewing Co., Missing Links Brewery, North Country Brewing Co., Reclamation Brewing Company, Recon Brewing, ShuBrew: Handcrafted Ales & Food, Stick City Brewing Company and newly added Burgh’ers Brewing and Dented Keg (Dented Keg is slated to open at the end of August). Local canning facilities are also featured: North Country Canning Co. and ShuBrewery.

A collaborative beer, Butler County Barley Wine 2019, was designed by the eight original breweries, and is making its debut. This collaborative beer is a barleywine strong ale, with an alcohol volume of 10%. Limited quantities will be bottled and given freely only to those who’ve completed the Butler County Beer Circuit by filling up their Passport to Hoppiness.

There will be a release party for the Butler County Barley Wine 2019 at Cellar Works Brewing Company, Friday, August 9 from 4-11 p.m. Customers will have the opportunity to purchase a glass of the new beer, and it will also be available on draft for a limited time at eight Butler County locations after the release party (except for Burgh’ers Brewing and Dented Keg), but no growler refills are allowed.
