Cinderlands Foederhouse will welcome Philadelphia’s Human Robot for a month-long celebration of cross-state lager collaboration at their Lawrenceville brewpub in Pittsburgh from June 9th to July 2nd.
“We absolutely love collaborating with our friends at other breweries–it’s one of the most rewarding parts of being brewers. So often, though, we pop in for a day, make beer together, and move on until the next time we have a chance to cross paths. We’ve always wanted something deeper and more involved. The House Guest series gets us set up for that,” said Cinderlands partner and head brewer Paul Schneider.
The festivities kick off on Friday June 9th, 2023 with the first ever House Guest Beer Dinner, a five-course ticketed affair at the Foederhouse featuring beers from both breweries and course presentations by brewers from Cinderlands and Human Robot. Their beers will be accompanied by five courses from the Cinderlands culinary team, all inspired by the cuisine of Franconia and Czechia, regions that are home to some of the greatest lager traditions in the world.
During the House Guest residency, Cinderlands Foederhouse will offer Human Robot draft beers on guest taps, starting with their Hallertau Pils and Czech 10° Pale Lager, the latter being offered on Lukr side pull faucets for the classic Czech pour. As those kegs kick, different Human Robot beers will come into the fold.
Cinderlands and Human Robot brewed two collaborations together in advance of the House Guest kickoff:
Pittsburghenstrasse is a Franconian-American lager brewed at the Cinderlands Warehouse in the classic Franconian lager tradition but hopped with American Crystal hops. This beer will be available throughout Pittsburgh in draft and cans starting June 9th.

Leuven Pils is a Belgian-style foeder-aged pilsner brewed at the Cinderlands Foederhouse with Belgian malt and Saaz hops, and then lagered in a young American oak foeder for six weeks before bottle conditioning. This beer will be available only at the Cinderlands Foederhouse on draft and in bottles starting June 23rd.
“What I came to love about the Human Robot crew is that their love for lager and the culture around it is intense and totally genuine. It comes from inside the culture of these beers, and it shows in their killer execution and respect for the overall spirit of how these beers drink and the fine details involved in making them. We couldn’t ask for a more professional, passionate, personable, and pierogi-loving crew to kick off the House Guest series.” said Evan Thorsen, senior brewer at the Cinderlands Foederhouse.
The House Guest residency will wind down with a Brewers’ Brunch on Sunday, July 2. This will be a non-ticketed event featuring brunch specials and lager pairings. No tickets, but reservations are strongly encouraged.
