Dock Street Brewing Announces Closure Of West Philly Brewery; Point Breeze Location To Remain Open

Since August of 2007 Dock Street Brewing has been operating at the corner of 50th St and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia. However, as of this writing, the brewery has announced plans to close the space

The announcement goes on to say:

“After fifteen amazing years, Dock Street Brewery West’s time in the beautiful firehouse we called home is coming to an end… We are selling the equipment of the brewpub and not the name, Dock Street Brewery”

The brewing location had become synonymous with pairing their craft beer with handmade pizza. And during the 2020 Covid Pandemic even used their popular food item to help front line workers.

What does the future hold for the location? Locals can expect a new brewing tenant to take over. As the announcement confirmed; “on June 1st, there will be a talented duo taking over Dock Street’s space in the Firehouse – they are young, ambitious, hardworking, and kind. They are seasoned brewers and will make fantastic beers and other fare.” No confirmation yet on who this is, but we will be sure to profile the new business owners as more information is made available.

The closing of this location does not mean the Dock Street brand will be going away. The brewery confirmed that the Dock Street South Philadelphia location, which opened in 2019, will remain open. “After June 1st, please come visit us at Dock Street South, our 10,500 square foot brewpub in Point Breeze where we’ll continue brewing award-winning beers and hand-tossing beautiful wood-fired artisanal pizzas as usual.”
