Don’t look now, but Dock Street Brewing, the award winning staple in the Philadelphia brewing community, is the next brewery to to expand to a new location. The new space will be in the Point Breeze neighborhood at 2118 Washington Ave.
Established as Philadelphia’s first microbrewery in 1985, Dock Street has produced award winning beer for 30+ years having racked up many silver and gold medals throughout the last few decades.
The name Dock Street pays homage to the seaport district which was, in the late 1700’s, the largest producer of beer in the young infancy of the country. The brewing company brews to this day with the spirit of Philadelphia’s rich beer history in mind.
Coupled with the primary brewery, the company also owns the Cannery and Tasting Lounge as well as Dock Street Spirits. Now a new location joins this historic, and still growing, brand!
The brewery is on it’s way to expanding south to the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia. Located on Washington Avenue, this 10,300 square foot brewing facility and mess hall will offer a 20-barrel brewhouse with the intention of growing and increasing this historic brand.
The new brewery will offer a tasting room and lounge, where Dock Street Beer, as well as craft spirits, beer cocktails, and light fare will be on the menu. To keep up with all of this growth the brewery is currently hiring many different roles to prepare for opening.
The brewery expects to open later this year. Continue to follow along as more updates are released.
