For almost two decades East End Brewing has bee celebrating Gratitude… both that warm feeling of thankfulness AND the warm feeling that comes with a sip of the beer that carries this name. Gratitude Barleywine has become an annual tradition for the Pittsburgh brewery, and more recently Gratitude Release Day day has taken on a new form, involving other members of Pittsburgh’s beer making community.

Since 2004, East End has been brewing their Gratitude Barleywine with the exact same recipe, as an annual thanks to their GOOD BEER Fans for their support throughout the year. Barleywine, if you’re not especially familiar, is the granddaddy of classical beer styles. It’s a big, robust, beer that’s suitable for fireside sipping during these longest, coldest, grayest, months of Pittsburgh’s winter.

And for their 18th year the brewery has a wide variety of new releases of Gratitude Barleywine planned for Saturday, February 25th as well as much more. The day of the event will include the following:

• • 2022 Gratitude Barleywine
  • 2022 Bourbon Barrel Aged Gratitude Barleywine
  • 2022 Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Gratitude Barleywine
  • 2022 Rum Barrel Aged Gratitude Barleywine (a first!)
  • Taster flights of all these different versions, and some vintage stock.
  • Gratitude Day PIZZA from the East End CHEWING Pizza Kitchen

But, as they say, there’s more! Around town on this day, a long list of local fellow beer makers are tapping kegs of the Gratitude Barleywine at their establishments to help celebrate the day! Below is the list of places where Gratitude will flow on the 25th:
