Forbes Trail Brewing is partnering with the Friends of Flight 93 organization for a beer called “Giving Back Pale Ale”.
The beer is being made for a September 24th event called Pints For Parks, in celebration of National Public Lands Day, the “nation’s largest single-day volunteer event for public lands”. The day was established in 1994 and held annually on the fourth Saturday in September. This celebration brings thousands of volunteers to help restore and improve public lands around the country.
Giving Back Pale Ale is a 5.25% ABV crushable pale ale, brewed with Centennial hops. The beer will debut on September 24th, and the Friends of Flight 93 will be at Forbes Trail Brewing, encouraging people to buy some of the specialty beer.
Proceeds from sales will go towards the organization and its Western Overlook project. The Western Overlook location is where the families were first brought to see the crash site in September of 2001.
“Remembering all of the fallen heroes of 9/11 is really important, and we are glad to do our part, no matter how small it may be.” – said Mike Fahy, Owner, and Brewer at Forbes Trail Brewing
Planned enhancements to the overlook include an area where Park Rangers can make interpretations and help visitors understand the historical significance of the space, as well as a beautification to provide a space where visitors can sit and reflect on the events that occurred on the site over 21 years ago.
