Congratulations to Bald Birds Brewing who opens their third facility on Friday, September 18th. The 150,000+ square foot new production space and taproom will open at 220 Shaffer Lane in Jersey Shore, PA.
What was once a former clothing manufacturer/distribution center has been transformed into a beer lovers’ paradise. The facility will be home to a 90,000 sq/ft production brewery, and a 7,000 sq/ft taproom. It will feature a 10,000 sq/ft event venue and have lots of outdoor seating and gaming areas.
The initial hours for the space will be as follows:
Fri & Sat: 12:00 – 10:00
Sunday: 12:00 – 9:00
Starting September 23rd the brewery will also be open from 4:00 – 10:00 Wednesday through Thursday.
“Its an opportunity to be a part of the community in Jersey Shore again, as I grew up there.” Says co-owner Joey Feerrar of Bald Birds Brewing Company. “We look forward to being a part of the brewery scene in Central Pennsylvania, as well as the contract brewery scene, and we are looking forward to partnering with other brands to help them grow their business.”
Visitors to the taproom can enjoy beers crafted by Bald Birds as well as select additional PA-based breweries. Alongside the beers, there are many tasty food options created by locally-renowned food truck superstars Gunzey’s Hot Sausage. Gunzey’s will be setting up a permanent residence inside the Bald Birds taproom, and offering a custom menu ranging from their award-winning sausages to flatbread pizzas to larger-than-life milkshakes.
The brewery’s production facility boasts a brand new 30-barrel brewing system, as well as a 5-barrel pilot system, along with a slew of fermenting tanks ranging from 10-120 barrels. The brewing team will also be producing a lot more than just Bald Birds brews in that space, as a good portion of the production will come from contract brewing arrangements with other growing breweries and brands.
