Here Are A Few Pennsylvania Brewery Projects You Can Help Crowdfund

When it comes to craft beer, the community is almost as important as the liquid in your glass. So what better way to support that sense of community pride than by working with local brewing companies to help them succeed towards their goals.

We’ve scoured the web and below are a few Pennsylvania brewery projects that you can help publicly fund.

Brewery: Co-op Brewing Company

Project: Kickstarter Campaign

Overview:

From the Kickstarter site:

“Pittsburgh is a beer town, but Pittsburgh’s North Hills is underserved when it comes to craft breweries. We’re looking to change that. 25% of beers sales in the United States right now are for craft beer, and we’re not looking to change that. Our goal is for Co-op Brewing Company to be a fun, welcoming place for beer drinkers (and non-beer drinkers alike) to wind down, have fun, and try something new.

The weekends at Co-op Brewing Company will be especially fun, with farmer’s markets and brunch during the warmer months, live music, games, and a dog-friendly atmosphere.

We hope to earn $20,000 through this Kickstarter campaign in order to build up our down payment for a physical location in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Our plan is to open in the Spring of 2021, with April as our target month.”

Brewery: Powell’s Valley Farm Brewery

Project: Kickstarter

Overview:

Powell’s Valey Farm Brewery believes in putting the community first, and their first goal will be to support the town of Lykens and its surrounding community, by giving back time and resources to local groups and projects. They have also committed to ensuring the historic integrity of the building is retained, inside and out. In addition to the taproom and shops, Jim will devote time to reworking the current coal museum displays and adding to the history of Lykens and the railroad. The displays will have a prominent, visible presence in the station.

The building’s general look and feel will be based on the idea of a vintage country store, and it will showcase local foods, local products, and art by local and regional artists and small business leaders. The building will include an outdoor patio where visitors can enjoy the beautiful weather that the valley has to offer.

The brewery, general store, and cafe will all be dedicated to using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and environmentally friendly dinnerware, packaging, and more.

Brewery: Pilger Ruh Brewing

Project: Indiegogo

Overview:

From the Indiegogo campaign:

“Pilger Ruh Brewing is a new craft brewery coming to Schuylkill County PA! The whole dream started three years ago in the summer of 2017 when owners Tyler Budwash, Anthony Deppen, Conlan Budwash, along with friends Matt and Alex started brewing together. We quickly joined the beer festival circuit and received great reviews from consumers all over the state. Our brewery has over 14 years of combined brewing experience and we plan to bring great local beers of all styles to Pottsville PA in 2021! Co-Owner Tyler has been homebrewing since 2013, started the Schuylkill County Brew Fest, and has been to over 250 different breweries in the US, a graduate of Kutztown University where he has a BA in Political Science. He currently lives in Schuylkill County with his 2 children and girlfriend Corine. Co-Owner Anthony Deppen has been homebrewing since 2017, world traveled professional wrestler, currently lives in New Cumberland PA with his wife Cassidy where they are expecting their first child in November 2020. Head Brewer Conlan Budwash has been the assistant brewer at Snitz Creek the last 4 years, worked at Troegs Brewing Company the last 5 years, lives in Pine Grove, and graduated from the Brew Science course through HACC.

Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 to complete our renovations (floors, walls, bathrooms, reinforcing the basement etc). As we said earlier, we want to offer you something for helping us. Some of the perks we have lined up are limited edition glasses, shirts, deals on mug club memberships, naming tanks, brewing with us, exclusive beers, hoodies, hats, free tickets to events ran by us and more! We set our goal a bit higher than we wanted to, so no matter what amount we reach, ALL proceeds will be going into getting the taproom ready for early next year.”

Brewery: Harris Family Brewery

Project: Go Fund Me

Overview:

From the Go Fund Me campaign:

“Harris Family brewery is in the last stages of opening our brewery. Our goal is within reach but we NEED your help to cross this finish line. We are still Independently owned and are still being laughed at by banks who don’t believe in the DREAM. Specifically, we would use these funds for our Last license and finish up a few more brewery needs. Our Nano brew setup with dreams of growing to a 10 bbl brewhouse with time is located in the heart of Allison Hill in Harrisburg. If we have to we will gladly go out and sell every drop of blood in our bodies in order to get these doors open but there is a better way. Once we plant our roots in Harrisburg in what we call a craft beer desert we look to grow into our home town of Philadelphia. Believe it or not, we are making history by becoming Pennsylvania’s First Black Owned Brewery but don’t worry there are more to come.”
