It’s no secret that Pennsylvania’s restaurants and breweries have been heavily hit by COVID-19, and the accompanying restrictions put in place by the state government.
As an organization, we have done everything we could think of to promote local businesses and call attention to people to support them. If the current restrictions stay in place into the winter, we will, unfortunately, see many restaurants, bars, and breweries close. Many breweries have expressed concern to us, over how they will be able to keep their doors open in the winter.
House Bill 2513 – This would set minimum capacity for restaurants and taverns at a minimum of 50% and would allow them to go beyond that if their premises allows while complying with social distancing, masks, and other safety precautions recommended by the CDC and PA Department of Health. The bill also removes the food requirement and prohibition against bar service (breweries cannot even hand a drink over a bar right now), which has been a problem for a lot of breweries that do not have kitchens.
Below is how each branch of the PA government voted.
