Human Robot Expanding With Second Location In Jenkintown

Human Robot, with a brewery and taproom in Philadelphia, is adding a second location by expanding into Jenkintown, PA, with an estimated opening of 2-22-2022. They will be planning on some pop-ups before the grand opening.

The new taproom will be located at 208 York Road in Jenkintown. Many craft beer fans will recognize this as the recently closed Borough Brewhouse, previously owned by Neshaminy Creek. The building is about 5,500 sq/ft with roughly 140 seats.

Owners Jake Atkinson, Chris Roller, Ken Correl, and Andrew Foss plan to partner with a yet-to-be-determined kitchen operator for their 140-seat brewpub, endearingly nicknamed “The Haus”, though they are leaning toward traditional German and American fare. Trusting the kitchen to a separate operator will allow the team to focus on brewery operations and hospitality for their new clientele.

Renowned for their innovative brewing techniques which produce high-quality, clean European-inspired beers right alongside their experimental stouts, IPAs, and Splash series, Human Robot is slated to take over the turnkey brewpub located in the Montgomery County section of suburban Philadelphia. The new space aims to open full-time starting on February 2, 2022, though don’t be surprised if the Robots announce a few pop-ups prior to the grand opening.

The brew team in Jenkintown will be spearheaded by head brewer, Andrew Foss, who will oversee both locations. Foss will continue his regularly scheduled program of experimental and far-out fruit-bomb sours, bold stouts & IPAs at the new location, freeing up tank space in Kensington to increase production on all of the beautiful pilsners, lagers, and other Euro-centric styles.

For a taste of what’s to come, guests are encouraged to visit the flagship location at 1710 N. 5th Street in Kensington, Philadelphia and follow the brewery on Facebook and Instagram.
