Insurrection AleWorks Confirms Shadyside Taproom Not Happening

You may have seen a few reports making their way around that Insurrection AleWorks is planning to open a second taproom in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. We are here to confirm, that will not be happening.

We recently spoke with Insurrection about the project. Without getting into full details, the brewery received slight opposition when it came to the planning of the new location. Insurrection went through what any other business would do. They met with town officials to get approval to move forward. The brewery confirms “a lot of the town was very supportive of this project.”

Unfortunately, while much of the town was supportive, there was opposition to the future space by some members of the town. Enough that the brewery will no longer be moving forward with the project.

While the brewery is disappointed by the decision, they hold no ill will towards the neighborhood and are looking forward to expanding the business. “We want to be seen as a positive impact on the community where we open our second taproom. Pittsburgh and the surrounding area is a blossoming area. We will eventually find a second home. Our realtor is searching all over that side of the city for us. We are excited for what’s next.”
