Iron Hill Brewery To Close All Locations Immediately And File For Bankruptcy

In a move that will send shockwaves through the PA craft beer community, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has announced the immediate closure of all its locations.

Breweries in PA has received the below email screenshot from an anonymous employee, from Iron Hill leadership, announcing the closures.

Dear Team,

I hope this message finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the closure of all our restaurant locations effective immediately. Due to ongoing financial challenges, the company has made the difficult decision to file for bankruptcy and, regrettably, will be permanently closing its doors.

We understand that this news is coming with limited notice; however, we have been working diligently behind the scenes to secure new sources of funding and explore alternative solutions to avoid this situation. Communicating the financial challenges to the Team ahead of time would have compromised our ability to secure the additional funding needed.

This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact it will have on each of you.
We are committed to supporting our team members during this transition and will provide information regarding final paychecks, benefits, and resources for finding new employment.

A final payroll off-cycle payroll will be processed on 9/25/2025. Those who receive direct deposit will still have their funds directly deposited into their accounts. We will mail any paper checks to the address on file in Paycor. Kelly Benefits and Lincoln Financial will be mailing information regarding benefits and 401(k) for anyone who was enrolled in either respective benefits plan.

We express our deepest gratitude for your contributions and dedication to our company. Each of you has played a vital role in our journey, and we sincerely appreciate your hard work and commitment.

This email, circulated to team members, revealed the company’s decision to file for bankruptcy and permanently close its doors, citing ongoing financial challenges. The announcement, delivered “with a heavy heart,” marks the end of an era for the beloved brewpub chain, which has been a staple in communities across the region for decades.

The internal message, dated September 25, 2025, states, “We understand that this news is coming with limited notice; however, we have been working diligently behind the scenes to secure new sources of funding and explore alternative solutions to avoid this situation.” Ultimately, financial difficulties led to this final decision.

For the many fans of Iron Hill’s handcrafted beers and signature pub fare, the news is heartbreaking. The brewpubs were more than just restaurants; they were community hubs, places where families gathered, friends celebrated, and beer lovers explored new tastes.

The permanent closure of all locations is a significant loss not only for the employees and leadership but also for the PA beer community, which relied on them as a source of great food and beer.
