Saturday at noon kicks off the 9th Annual Lehigh Valley Beer Week. The official start to LVBW is the Opening Tap of the collaboration brew between Lehigh Valley Beer Week and Lehigh Valley Brewers Guild. This will be the first taste of the Hazy IPA named Guildy Pleasure VI. Once the streets of Easton are filled with samples of the beer, President and Founder of LVBW Jesse Albertson, along with numerous Lehigh Valley business owners and operators, will do a cheers!
Due to Covid, LVBW postponed this year’s events by 3 months in the hopes that the May weather would be more inducive to outdoor events. LVBG had to change the way the collaboration brew would be done because gone are the days of 15 brewers gathering together in a small space. The beer was brewed by two different breweries to be as safe as possible. Two Rivers Brewing in Easton brewed the kegged version. For the first time ever, there will also be cans of the beer brewed by Funk Brewery in Emmaus.
The beer will be a Hazy IPA Kettle and double dry hopped with El Dorado and Mosaic. Flavors of peach gummies, blueberry haze, and the tropics.
Lehigh Valley Beer Week will be held this year from May 15 to 22nd. There are close to 50 participating venues. In order to create a safe gathering environment for Opening Tap, LVBW have worked with the City of Easton, and 6th Street will be shut down for the celebration in order to make room for Biergaarden tables, food, beer, and live music!
