Lindgren Craft Brewery has collaborated on a very special beer, joining together with Gems Farm, to release “Damn The Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead”. This 11.35% Winter Warmer will release with a portion of the proceeds for every bottle sold being donated to the Navy-Marine Relief Fund.
The beer is a part of Lindgren’s “Beers for Good”, a series in which they give back to a variety of different organizations.
We spoke with Lindgren Craft Brewery about the collab to learn more about the work that went into the beer. They believed the pairing was a great fit as Mike Lindgren was a civilian contract specialist, his father, and partner, Cliff, a Navy Pilot, and Michael Reifsnyder from Gems Hop Farm a retired chief petty officer. The trio had felt a strong connection to helping out the Navy all around, and thus the project was born.
A big malt presence, both in body and flavor. The robust sweet maltiness, raisin malt character, and creamy body come from 10 Malts and GEMS Special Blend of hops from GEMS hop farm in Carlisle, PA.
Madeleine K. Norris and Grace Keefe, both students at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design (Class of 2022), designed and created the artwork for this brew. Their piece depicts the hand of Admiral David Glasgow Farragut during the Battle of Mobile Bay and the torpedoes that were of the civil war era.
Damn The Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead will be available starting February 22nd, 2020 during Bottles At The Bank – February and other distribution locations!
