New Trail Brewing has released a special version of its State Light Lager, which was originally introduced earlier this year.
State Light Peach is brewed with a pop of refreshing sweet peach, and was brewed to celebrate Penn State heading to Georgia to take on Ole Miss and play in its first-ever Peach Bowl on December 30th.
State Light Peach will be shipping out to New Trail’s wholesalers this week and next, then out to retailers across PA.
Mike LaRosa, Director of Brewing Operations & Partner at New Trail, had this to say:
“We are excited to continue to be able to play around and innovate with new flavors for us. State Light is such a blank canvas that we thought it would be fun to work with such a delicate fruit. The results have been great and the reception just as good.
As a kid I got to attend a bowl game with my High School band, I want to say it was the Citrus Bowl around 2006. I’ll never forget the energy that the game brought. Making State Light Peach, reminded me of those times and the fond memories I have. I hope that this beer can evoke some excitement and bring fond memories to others as well.
We haven’t really delved too far into the depths of fruited lagers, I hope that our fans enjoy the beer and will trust us to continue to innovate and play more with fun beers like this.”
“This is just a 1-time drop to celebrate the bowl selection! State Light will continue to be available year-round”, says New Trail Marketing Director Don Rieck.
Reick continued, “We had a chance to highlight our Happy Valley United partnership on these labels, reminding fans that State Light supports 800+ Student Athletes at Penn State as the Official Beer of Happy Valley United.”
New Trail will be hosting a Penn State watch party at their tasting room in Williamsport on December 30th. State Light and State Light Peach will both be on tap, and there also might be a surprise in store for fans who attend.
