Newly Formed Pittsburgh Brewers Guild To Host Launch Party For Pittsburgh Brewery Guide And Interactive Website

Pittsburgh, PA – To celebrate the official launch of the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide and website, the recently founded Pittsburgh Brewers Guild (PBG), will host a release party on Friday, August 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the lawn at NOVA Place. Tickets are $55 per person and will include a special edition version of the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide, a souvenir tasting glass, and a pour of 10 exclusive collaboration beers. In addition to trying the collaboration beers, three food trucks will be onsite, along with a DJ, and additional Pittsburgh Brewery Guide swag for purchase.

The PBG is comprised of 30 tightly knit breweries in Allegheny County, each of them unique in their own way. The Pittsburgh Brewery Guide will showcase each of these members by providing location and detailed information on each, making them easily accessible to all beer lovers, Pittsburghers and visitors alike.  In addition, there will be space for a stamp from each brewery so people can track and remember where they have visited and the beers they have tried. These handheld guides will be available for purchase after the event at all 30 breweries.

In addition, this supportive community of breweries in the PBG have come together to develop 10 exclusive collaboration beers for the launch party with three breweries associated with each beer. These collaboration beers will be available at the release party and then at Pittsburgh Brewery Guild member breweries after the event. There will be 10 host breweries where the collaboration beers will be brewed which includes Dancing Gnome, East End, Eleventh Hour, Grist House, Helicon, Hitchhiker, Hop Farm, Mindful, Spoonwood and Strange Roots.

An interactive website will also be released that will mimic the printed guide and include additional information about each brewery.  The key feature of the website will be a virtual map that will allow users to create a personalized brewery tour across the city. The map will optimize the best route allowing the user to drive, ride-share, bike, or walk from point to point in the most efficient manner.  The personally designed brewery tour can be shared and saved by sending it to the users phone or email.  The website, http://pghbreweryguide.com, will allow people easier access to the 30 Pittsburgh Brewery Guild members than ever before and will be launched in connection with the party.

Tickets to the Pittsburgh Brewery Guide Release Party will go on sale July 25th at 12:00 P.M.  Please visit http://pghbreweryguide.com or go to the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild Facebook page for more information on ticketing.

Headed by Brian Eaton of Grist House as Chairman and Matt McMahon of Eleventh Hour Brewing Company as Vice Chairman, the mission of the PBG is to provide a strong, united voice for Independent Craft Breweries in Allegheny County.  It aims at bettering the position of local craft breweries as it relates to promotion, legislation, representation, and taxation.
