PA Pride Returns With A Special Mixed Four Pack

The PA Pride beer series, which started in 2020 in part because of the pandemic,  but also to showcase the robust Pennsylvania agriculture landscape, continues with the tenth beer in the series scheduled to release to the public starting October 20th.

Breweries from across Pennsylvania have yet again teamed to produce a special installment of  the series which is named for the love and pride we all share for the Keystone state. In honor of the tenth release of the series a very special mixed four pack will be released highlighting some of the past releases as well as showcasing two new beers.

As with all PA Pride releases, these beers will be made with locally produced products as a way of showcasing the robust agriculture throughout Pennsylvania.

The four beers in the pack are:

  • A light, hazy, sessionable Pale Ale showcasing Pennsylvania organic spelt malt and Cascade, Citra, and Simcoe hops (the original PA Pride release)
  • A rich Doppelbock showcasing Münich-style Dutch and Double Dutch malts made from PA 2-row barley and a hint of noble hop flavor and aroma from Hersbrucker hops (a brand new beer to the series)
  • A crisp Pilsner made with traditionally floor germinated PA 2-row barley, Sazz hops, and Bohemian lager yeast (the second ever PA Pride release)
  • A bold Rye IPA made with Pennsylvania rye and Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Comet, and Mosaic hops for notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine all rounded out by the classic hint of spice from rye (another brand new beer to the series)

“The original PA Pride started as a way to support small craft breweries with a packaged product  that would allow them to share with their customers during the pandemic when taprooms were  closed. Breweries without the capabilities of canning beer could now have a to-go option in their  taproom coolers without the massive investment of a canning operation. It has since grown into so  much more by connecting the many different breweries that make up this amazing state while  showcasing the true power of Pennsylvania agriculture” says Chadd Balbi, co-founder of Breweries  In PA, one of the companies behind the project.

These beers feature carefully selected blends of malts sourced from Pennsylvania’s  own, Deer Creek Malthouse, delivering a rich and robust flavor profile. In addition to highlighting local ingredients, the project also aims to support the local brewing scene. The participating breweries are all small, independent businesses, and they are committed to providing high-quality, locally-produced beer. By purchasing this mixed four pack, consumers can support these businesses and help to keep the Pennsylvania brewing scene thriving.

Starting October 20th, the PA Pride mixed four pack will be available at select breweries across  Pennsylvania. Craft beer enthusiasts and supporters of local agriculture are encouraged to  experience the unique flavors and narrative that this beer embodies. You can find a full map of  where it will be available in both cans and on draft here.

In addition to the locations listed on the map, the team at Deer Creek Malthouse will have the beer available for shipping throughout Pennsylvania or for sale at one of their many farmers markets. Be sure to follow them on social media for Farmers Markets updates as things change.
