Ship Bottom Brewery Plans Expansion With Facility In Ambler, PA

Many breweries across the country cross state lines to call PA home. Scotland based Brew Dog, Southern Tier (New York) and Fat Heads (Ohio) all come to mind. And with craft beer becoming one of Pennsylvania’s largest economic drivers, we really don’t blame them.

You can add Ship Bottom Brewery from New Jersey to the list above. The brewery has not made an official announcement but based on a search through the PLCB license database the brewery has a pending storage license in the works in Ambler, Pennsylvania. While not making an official announcement, the brewery has confirmed with us that these plans are in the works.

You can see the search results below.

As you can see from the address above the pending location is the Wake Coffee Roasters coffee shop. Wake has yet to confirm the news, however, the pairing of the two brands comes as no surprise.

As we reported when Track 3 Brewing closed their Dresher brewery; they moved their beer offerings to Wake Coffee Roasters. The brewery has since stopped serving its beer from this location. And it is assumed Wake is looking for a new partner in this. We can confirm, through off the record conversations, that Wake has solicited other Pennsylvania breweries on a similar partnership. So it can be assumed the business is passionate about adding craft beer to their offerings.

No official details exist on this partnership beyond the PLCB license search. We will update as more information is made available.

Update: Ship Bottom has since offered the following in regards to this report:
