North Country Brewing is moving forward with plans to transform three properties next to its original Brew Pub in Slippery Rock into a new outdoor gathering space for the community.
The brewery announced the project on November 2, sharing plans to demolish three neighboring houses it has acquired over the past several years. The additional space will provide room for community events, live entertainment, and other activities.
Work is expected to begin sometime between now and April 2027, depending on weather and contractor schedules. North Country is partnering with local businesses Stone Brothers Construction & Excavating and McClymonds Supply & Transit on the project.

The brewery will remove the three buildings while preserving the property’s historic barn stone foundation for potential future projects. The remaining lot will then be filled, graded, and seeded.
North Country hopes to have the new green space ready by late summer 2027. Current plans include weekly live music throughout the summer, a Late Night Pumpkin Fall Fest, and additional community events throughout the year. The space will also be made available to Slippery Rock Development, the Slippery Rock Business Association, and Slippery Rock Borough for community programming.
“North Country has always been about more than just good beer. It’s about bringing people together, supporting our neighbors and creating places where people can make memories,” said Terrilynn Halbleib of North Country Brewing. “We’re excited to take the next step toward creating a space that benefits not only our business, but the entire Slippery Rock community.”

The brewery hopes the project will attract more visitors to Slippery Rock, encourage people to explore the town and support the independent businesses that contribute to the community.
“We believe our community is stronger when we work together,” Halbleib added. “We want this space to be something everyone can enjoy, whether they’re coming out for live music, attending a community event, visiting the Brew Pub or exploring the other great businesses in Slippery Rock.”
Additional details about the project and planned events will be announced as development progresses.
