Warwick Farm Brewing has made a unique collab beer with popular local artist Matt Freedman, aging wood in their fermenter, and then making a playable guitar out of it.
The beer and guitar were ideas that started during Warwick Farm’s annual Music Fest, which Matt Freedman performed at.
Matt Freedman is a local up-and-coming artist that has recently opened for artists like Brantley Gilbert, Maranda Lambert, and Uncle Cracker. He’s a close friend of the brewery, and it was a perfect fit.
Songwriter Stout is a 6.5% milk stout loaded with chocolate and toasted malts. After brewing, Warwick Farm added pieces of wood from Kevin Coyle, of Coyle’s Richboro Music, in the fermenter, resulting in a flavorful beer with wood characteristics.
Once the beer was finished, Kevin took the stout-soaked wood to then make 2 beautiful new guitars. Kevin’s shop is only 5 minutes from Warwick Farm and is known for his guitar-making skills.
The beer is available now at Warwick Farm Brewing in Jamison, and the trio anticipates playing the guitars sometime later this year!
