Steaks, Subs & Suds: J’s and Weyerbacher Team Up In Allentown

In an interview with WFMZ 69 News, Ed Lozano announced plans for a new concept that will bring together two iconic Lehigh Valley food and beverage brands. J’s Original Steaks and Subs is expected to open a restaurant and brewhouse in late 2026 at 448 N. 17th St. in Allentown, combining J’s signature food offerings with beers from Weyerbacher Brewing.

Lozano, CEO of Savant Beverages LLC, which purchased Weyerbacher in 2022, said the new J’s concept will take over the space currently occupied by Weyerbacher’s Allentown Taproom & Biergarten. “There’s a lot to figure out, but we’re excited to pursue it and hope we can get it open by the end of the year,” Lozano told WFMZ. “Basically, we’re going to be converting the Weyerbacher taproom into a J’s Weyerbacher taproom, combining Weyerbacher’s beers with J’s food offerings.”

Weyerbacher opened its Allentown taproom about a year ago, providing a second destination for the brewery beyond its main taproom and production facility at 905 Line St. on Easton’s South Side. The 30,000-square-foot Easton facility has been home to Weyerbacher since 2001, when the brewery relocated from its original location in a converted livery stable near South Sixth and Northampton streets. Weyerbacher first opened there in 1995.
