The second annual Three Rivers Beer Week will be held Sunday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 9. The week will begin with the annual kick-off fundraiser, The First Pour Beer Festival, on Saturday, October 1st. If you plan on attending, you can use code breweriesinpa to receive a $10 discount on any of the tickets available (general admission, early admission, and VIP). You can purchase tickets here.

In Pittsburgh, you can find craft beer everywhere. This October, the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild (PBG) plans to once again highlight those lagers and ales produced by Pittsburgh breweries during the annual Three Rivers Beer Week.

The Pittsburgh Brewers Guild is a non-profit organization that counts nearly 50 Allegheny
County breweries as members. It is dedicated to providing a strong, united voice for independent craft breweries in Allegheny County. It aims at bettering the position of local craft breweries as it relates to promotion, legislation, and representation.

Last year, the PBG partnered with friends in Asheville to brew one official collaboration beer for TRBW. This year, with the support of the Cleveland Beer Week team, at least eight “Pittsburgh x Cleveland” collaboration beers will be brewed just for TRBW.

“Cleveland felt like a natural. It’s close, our cities have a lot in common, a friendly rivalry and a great love of good beer,” said Jen Walzer, co-owner of Inner Groove Brewing in Verona and a board member who leads social media efforts for the PBG. “We’ve featured seven brewery trails since the creation of the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild. Each one tracks the unique geography and mix of breweries that make Pittsburgh’s beer scene so special. So why not partner with our friends in Cleveland to brew at least one collaboration beer for each trail?”

The collaborating breweries and beer styles include:

• Allegheny City Brewing x Collision Bend Brewing (North Shore Trail), Australian Sparkling Ale
• Brew Gentlemen x Noble Beast Brewing (Mon River Trail), Japanese Rice Lager
• Coven Brewing x Missing Mountain Brewing (City Trail), Oat New England IPA
• Grist House Craft Brewery x Masthead Brewing (Allegheny River Trail), Stout with Blackberry, Vanilla, and Lactose
• Helicon Brewing x Butcher & Brewer (Ohio River Trail), Double India Pale Lager
• Hop Farm Brewing x Fat Heads Brewing (City Trail), West Coast IPA
• Southern Tier – Pittsburgh x Southern Tier – Cleveland (North Shore Trail), Extra Special Bitter (ESB)
• Spoonwood Brewing x R. Shea Brewing (South Hills Trail), Italian Pils

Want to try those collaboration beers? Sip them all at Three Rivers Beer Week: First Pour 2022.
