Big news for fans of Iron Hill Brewery. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jeff Crivello, former CEO of Famous Dave’s BBQ and current head of Ciao Hospitality, has received court approval to acquire 10 closed Iron Hill Brewery locations, including spots in Center City, West Chester, Huntingdon Valley, Newtown, Wilmington, Lancaster, Hershey, and Rehoboth Beach, plus two in South Carolina.
Crivello’s $12 million credit bid was approved Wednesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey. While some of the restaurants could reopen as Iron Hill, others may take on new identities — including Three Notch’d Brewing Co., which Crivello plans to bring to Rehoboth Beach and the two South Carolina sites.
The move comes after Iron Hill abruptly shut down and filed for liquidation bankruptcy earlier this year, closing all locations and leaving major gaps in local downtowns and shopping centers.
Crivello, known for revitalizing brands like Famous Dave’s and Cowboy Jack’s, said this marks his first entry into the Philadelphia-area restaurant scene. “We’ve always liked the East Coast restaurant demographic,” he said. “It’s a great market for our restaurants.”
The remaining Iron Hill locations not purchased by Crivello are expected to hit the auction block in early December.
