Tröegs and Charcuterie Artist Offer Tips On Holiday Spreads

Tröegs Independent Brewing has teamed up with Kristen McCoy, the charcuterie artist behind Philadelphia’s Crumb & Cow, to offer tips for putting together artistic Instagram-worthy presentations and pairings for holiday get-togethers.

“When I’m laying out a board, I always do the cheese first,” says McCoy. “I recommend two to three types, ranging in milk type, taste and texture. The meats come next. Then your jams, honeys, dips, fruits and crunches.”

For a good mix, McCoy suggests using the “SSCT” rule: sweet, savory, color and texture.

“People eat with their eyes first, so take your time and include some surprises,” says McCoy. “Build a wreath around the board with rosemary. Or add some small ornaments or candy canes. I always say the more the better.”

To add to the holiday festivities, Tröegs also offers two beer cheese collaborations with Caputo Brothers Creamery, both of which are available during the holiday season.

Made with 100% Pennsylvania cow’s milk, both Grand Cacao Beer Cheese and Mad Elf Beer Cheese are now available while supplies last at participating GIANT, MARTIN’S and GIANT Heirloom Market locations as well as Tröegs Brewery and via Caputo Brothers’ web site.
