Tröegs Brewing Introduces Mad Elf Beer Cheese

If you’ve been following along long enough you have seen how Tröegs has introduced a number of different beer cheeses through the use of some of their iconic beer brands. The first, Troegenator cheese, was created back in the summer of 2019. Then came their Perpetual inspired cheese.

And now, the Central PA brewery is back at it.

Tröegs recently teamed again with the folks at Caputo Brothers Creamery (Spring Grove, PA) to release a Mad Elf inspired beer cheese in anticipation of the holiday season. The cheese will be available exclusively at all 185 GIANT Food Stores, MARTIN’S Food Markets, and GIANT Heirloom Market locations.

Mad Elf is a ruby red Belgian-style ale with notes of cherries, cinnamon, and chocolate, coming in at an impressive 11% ABV. After marinating the curd in an amber pool of the beer, the cheese is aged and then dressed up with a rind consisting of cocoa, cinnamon, espresso, and more beer to compliment the beer’s flavors. The end result produces a cheese that looks like a slice of chocolate cake with merry and bright notes of cinnamon, local, honey, sweet cream, and roasted chocolate.

100% of the milk used to make Mad Elf Beer Cheese comes directly from Pennsylvania dairy farms.

Mad Elf Beer Cheese is now available exclusively for a limited time while supplies last at all 185 GIANT, MARTIN’S, and GIANT Heirloom Market locations and available for purchase through GIANT Direct and MARTIN’S Direct, the company’s online grocery service. The cheese is also available for delivery via caputobrotherscreamery.com or in person at Tröegs.
