Tröegs Celebrates All Things Nugget Nectar With First Squeeze Weekend; January 18th-21st

Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the return of First Squeeze Weekend, a 4-day event (January 18th-21st) at the brewery celebrating its iconic once-a-year beer, Nugget Nectar.

“Nugget Nectar was one of the beers that really helped put us on the map,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “When it debuted back in 2004, there was nothing else like it. We decided to call it an ‘Imperial Amber’ as sort of a joke – but it really was the first of its kind. To this day, it is still one of our most sought-after beers.”

Throughout the weekend, fans can enjoy fresh Nugget Nectar, Double Nugget Nectar, and Nitro Nugget right from the source. Additionally, there will be special firkin tappings of one-off variations of Nugget Nectar on Thursday at 5 p.m.

On Friday night in the Tasting Loft, attendees can test their general beer knowledge and compete in 4 rounds of trivia featuring prizes awarded to the top two teams and raffle drawings for Tröegs swag after each round.

The Snack Bar will feature a variety of specials throughout weekend, including Korean BBQ Beef Ribs, Ice Cream Cake, and a Nugget Nectar Cheese Board Pairing. For Sunday Brunch, Tröegs will serve up Challah Bread Pudding from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last.

Art has always been one of the focal points of the First Squeeze campaign since its launch in 2016. Each year, Tröegs hand-picks a few favorite artists to put their own unique spin on the beer’s iconic label art. On Saturday, attendees can have their art prints autographed during a special signing event at 3 p.m. featuring artists Kacie Gilgore of York and Rachel Conville of Hershey, PA. This year’s roster of artists also includes Lisa Quine of Cleveland, Darrin Milliner of Pittsburgh, Evangeline Gallagher of Baltimore, and Louis Wes of southern New Jersey.

On Sunday, Tröegs will give away free Nugget Nectar glassware to the first 100 people who purchase a full pour of Nugget Nectar in the Tasting Room.

Over in the General Store, a variety of Nugget Nectar-themed merchandise is available to purchase, including limited First Squeeze T-shirts, art prints, and more.

Additionally, Tröegs is hosting several First Squeeze events in markets throughout its 10-state distribution footprint. Fans can enjoy fresh Nugget Nectar and Double Nugget Nectar on draft and snag exclusive glassware and art prints from this year’s featured artists.

Nugget Nectar is available on draft, in 12-oz. cans and bottles, and in 16-oz. cans everywhere Tröegs beer is sold. Customers can find the Imperial Amber Ale and other Tröegs beers using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
