Tröegs Independent Brewing has just announced the launch of Tröegs Independent Spirits.

Its first venture into the world of distilled spirits, the independent Hershey, PA-based brewery is leading with two releases: Tröegs Original Gin and Tröegs Orange Amaro.

Tröegs Original Gin offers a contemporary twist on an age-old classic. Juniper-forward with a dry, piney character, the addition of carefully selected botanicals softens the flavor profile to create an elegant, layered palate with a complex yet harmonious finish.

Tröegs Orange Amaro liqueur pours a lovely deep amber to present an expressive bouquet of bright citrus balanced with complex herbal aromatics and pithy orange peel. While it can be enjoyed straight on the rocks, it also shines as the base for a Negroni or Spritz.

The Tröegs brewing team spent months exploring the intersection of flavors, ingredients, and distilling techniques through experimentation and trial and error.

Each batch begins with fresh botanicals, carefully selected ingredients, and a passion for delicious flavors. Like all of Tröegs’ beers, these spirits go through a series of tasting trials before they are packaged.

“These tasting sessions bring our teams together to taste, talk, and fine-tune every detail, from distillation processes to the botanicals that help shape each batch,” says Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner.

To coincide with the launch of Tröegs Independent Spirits, Tröegs is now serving a variety of handmade cocktails at its new Cocktail Bar inside the Tasting Room. All seven creations are made with one or both of Tröegs’ house spirits. Libations include a signature Blueberry Bramble, Botanical Martini, Gilded Manhattan, Negroni, and more

“Throughout our entire career, we’ve been fascinated with how different ingredients trigger different parts of the sensory experience,” explains Trogner. “Orange Amaro is meant to mimic Perpetual IPA with big, bracing bitterness and a huge blast of citrus. Our Gin plays on the delicate and refreshing character of Sunshine Pilsner. It’s fun to think about these flavor sensations in a whole new realm. Experimentation has always been a building block of Tröegs, and this project has our curiosity running wild.”
