Union Brothers Brewing Expanding; Opening Production Facility In Harmony

Union Brothers Brewing opened in June 2020 and is already expanding. We spoke with owner/brewer Zach Waltz to learn more about this new space.

The new production location will be at 319 Perry Highway in Harmony, PA, just a short 2-minute ride from their taproom/restaurant at 365 Mercer Rd, in Harmony, PA.

The brewery is taking over a former Tupperware store that has been empty for about a year, and they have an aggressive ETA of November 2021 to get up and running. This production space is about 2,700 sq/ft inside, and there’s a large 11,000 sq/ft space outside to use in the future.

What does this mean for beer fans of Union Brothers? It means a whole lot more beer. Zach told us that a brand new 10BBL Alpha brewhouse has been purchased and will deliver soon, an upgrade from the 3.5BBL system that is currently at the main location. Along with this, the brewery is taking delivery of six 10BBL fermenters and one 20BBL fermenter, as well as a brand new Alpha canning line.

All this new room will allow the brewery to make even more of their beer that fans have come to love. In addition, they plan on starting a new barrel-aging program, something they lacked the room to do previously.

What’s happening to the original space? As Zach told us, since they’re getting a bigger brewhouse, the original 3.5BBL brewhouse has been sold! A big restaurant expansion will take place, where they once brewed. The plan is to offer a bigger variety of food and more of it.

Will we see more distro of cans? There will be a lot more distribution of cans, as well as kegs to bars and restaurants. (Fun fact: Breweries In PA used to try Union Brothers Brewing cans back when they were homebrewing!)
